Hello, all! Because Sampa is more directed towards personal, private family blogs, I've decided to take my writing skills and move them in a new direction: SimpleMakes.com.
My new blog features much of the same that Color Cozy used to host, including crafty tutorials, family activities, home cleaning tips, and ideas for green (sustainable) living. Check it out over there and please (oh please!) leave comments: generating conversation is hard for me to do online, but it's my favorite part about blogs!
I had a blog in high school (and that was quite a while ago!) - you know, the kind of thing where I wrote about every thing that happened in my life, and was then surprised that no one ever read it.
Sometime in college, I gave up on the blogging idea, deleted my blog (and with it, years of writing), and didn't give it another thought.
Until now.
I don't know if blogging has changed, or just me, but over the past several months, I've noticed that blogs come up on search results - the first page, even - for tons of stuff that I try to find online!
And what do I try to find online? Household organizing tips. How to make cleaning products. Recipes. Craft pointers. Travel recommendations.
So here I am, in the blog world again. This time, it's not all about me. I've got a massive bookmarks toolbar, and when I find something good (products, how-tos, articles, images, etc.), I want to share it!
As my profile says, let me know what you want to see. If you think your site or some web content you know about would fit in here, let me know and you might be featured.
I'm Lori Ann, the photographer, idea-generator, and overall blogger behind Color Cozy. I'm a recent expat to the mountains of Southern China. Here, I'm learning the language, making friends, and having my breath taken away by simple beauties and pleasures.
Why am I so passionate about simple living? Really, it's just that I think our passions are wasted on useless things. I want to see people pouring themselves out for their families, their spiritual lives, and their neighbors. This, I think, can only be achieved if we stop chasing after that ambiguous, never-attainable lifestyle of having all we want and begin taking joy in what and who we already have in our lives.
